50 Shades of White and Gray Create Sophistication in Contemporary Kitchens and Baths
The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) just took place in January in Orlando. It is one of the world’s largest gatherings of kitchen and bath product suppliers, and is considered one of the places to see and learn about all the new colors and trends in kitchen and bath design.
We are hearing from sources that saw the show, that when it comes to tile and stone, the trending colors from the show are white and gray. Does this mean that we’ve discarded the earthy tones of granite or marble for a bland white? Not at all! Interestingly, we’re not seeing just one stark shade of white, but a entire palette of white ranging from cool to warm.
And for those of you who might be intimidated by white, the other popular color choice remains gray, also in a varied palette. Gray is being used by designers in many transitional home designs because of its neutral quality. Mixing gray and white together is stealing the show in many homes. Take a look at this Berkeley Hall kitchen, featuring a gray and white Brazilian granite, also known as Black Ice. White and gray working in harmony for a clean, sleek gourmet kitchen.
Even the flooring of this Berkeley Hall home was done with white and gray wood-look porcelain tile. The effect is breathtaking creating movement throughout the room in contrast to the simplicity and modern element of the fireplace. This fireplace is a 2-tiered surround in one piece from Brazilian granite in Lemon Ice.
In another example, see this pool bath with the floating lavatory, white 3D tile, and gray pebble floor. The shades of white and gray are stunning together.
StoneWorks is working the design trend for these color palettes each day for customers, featuring multiple shades of white and gray stone and tile surfaces. This includes marble, granite, quartz, and porcelain. We also have tile products from top manufacturers in shades of white and gray.
