Master Bathroom Renovation – Smart and Efficient One Stop Shopping at StoneWorks

StoneWorks is excited to unveil a recent master bathroom renovation for a home on Callawassie Island. This project features ceramic, tile and stone installations with a mother of pearl accent wall. Martha Moore, a designer and sales specialist for StoneWorks, worked with interior designer Stasia Berk to completely transform this master bathroom space.

“The owners had a master bathroom that was poorly laid out with an oversized jacuzzi tub and redundant space,” shared Stasia. “They were tired of ‘living with it’ and ready to make a change.” Stasia designed a new layout that changed the bath entry, vanities, tub, shower and lighting plan. The goal was to improve function and scale, while creating a better space flow.

This plank-style floor tile is B&F Ceramics in Beach Walk Slate, which created a polished, grey wood look. “The floor tile was installed ‘at random,’ meaning that grout lines were not in a predictable pattern and the floor looks more like wood,” Stasia said.

For the shower walls, the team selected Cancos tiles in Calacatta glossy porcelain. These large rectified 24" x 24" squares were installed on three shower walls with thin grout lines. “The squares are porcelain and complement the floor, but do not match it,” said Stasia. “This gives the bathroom a look that is coordinated, not decorated.”

Below the porcelain tile are Island Stone pebbles in Malu Level grey. This gorgeous flat-face pebble tile was used on the shower floor and inside the wide wall niche that directly faces into the room.

The tiled wall behind the vanities features a stunning mother of pearl oval mosaic. This light-reflectant accent wall was installed on mesh sheets that interlock with one another. “The visual effect of this wall enhances the bathroom ceiling height and adds a definite style factor,” said Stasia.

The tiled rug in the entry area is textile porcelain. StoneWorks utilized the plank-style floor tile as a frame with squares of porcelain linen-like texture in the center.

Stasia and the homeowners were able to source all of the tile for the bathroom project and the quartz for the vanity countertops from the StoneWorks showroom. “One stop shopping was smart and efficient,” Stasia shared. “Martha ordered samples of every tile we considered for the project, helping the client visualize the changes that the new tile and quartz would make to the old bathroom.”

THE END RESULT: a beautiful new master bathroom that features more space, better lighting and appropriately scaled areas!

BONUS!

StoneWorks also had the opportunity to renovate the Dudreck’s fireplace. The stone is Speartek Tile and the hearth is Seagrass Honed.
